This bread machine white bread bakes lean and soft, built for sandwiches rather than the center of the table. One tablespoon of butter in the entire loaf, and the crumb still comes out tender with no sweetness getting in the way.
Add the warm water, butter, sugar, and salt to the bread machine pan.
Add the bread flour on top, ensuring it fully covers the liquid.
Make a small well in the flour and add the yeast, or place it in the yeast dispenser if your machine has one.
Select the Basic/White Bread cycle on your bread machine and choose your preferred crust setting (light, medium, or dark).
Press start and allow the machine to fully knead, rise, and bake the loaf.
When the cycle is complete, remove the loaf from the machine and cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
