Instructions
Give the berries a quick rinse and take off any stems.
Peel the banana and break it into 4 chunks. Toss them into the blender.
Add the berries and milk, then blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Pour into a glass, top with a strawberry if you like, and enjoy right away while it’s nice and cold.
Notes
If your fruit is ripe enough, you might not need anything extra. But a little honey or maple syrup can give it a nice boost.
Pour any extra smoothie into an ice cube tray. Later, you can blend the cubes into a quick smoothie or toss them into a new one.
Add a sprig of fresh mint on top or chill your glass ahead of time for a little extra refreshment.
Serve: Mixed berry smoothie goes great with warm breakfast foods like banana bread, baked eggs, or quiche. For a quick snack, try it with cookies, nuts, or a small slice of dessert.Store: Blend your mixed berry smoothie as usual and store it in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Shake or stir before drinking if it separates. For longer storage, freeze in ice cube trays or freezer bags. When you want one, blend the cubes with a splash of milk or juice until smooth.
