Golden-Baked Ham and Cheese Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls Recipe
Author: Jessica Haggard
Ham and cheese sliders on Hawaiian rolls come together fast and deliver big on flavor. With soft, layers of savory ham and melty cheese, and a buttery glaze on top, they’re always a hit. Whether you’re feeding a crowd or making a quick weeknight meal, these sliders are ready in 30 minutes and disappear just as fast.
Set your oven to 350 °F. Slice all the slider buns in half and place the bottom pieces snugly into a baking dish.
Spread mayo over the bottom buns. Add a layer of Swiss cheese, then the ham, and top it off with more Swiss. Finish by placing the top buns back on.
Stir together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, minced onion, and poppy seeds. Brush this mixture all over the tops of the buns so they’re nicely coated.
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake 5 to 10 minutes more until the tops are golden. Let them cool just a bit, then dig in while they’re warm and melty.
Notes
You can put the sliders together the night before. Just cover and chill, then bake when you’re ready for a quick and easy meal or snack.
A serrated knife makes slicing easier and helps keep the sliders looking neat without squishing the bread.
Toss in extras like honey, parmesan, Worcestershire sauce, or chopped herbs for more flavor. Feeling bold? Add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
Don’t wait too long to dig in. These are best when the cheese is melty, the ham is hot, and the rolls are soft.
Serve: Serve with French fries, sweet potato wedges, or a crisp salad. For something cozy, pair them with soup or pasta.Store: Keep leftovers in an airtight container for 2 days in the fridge or up to 2 months in the freezer. Add a paper towel underneath to absorb moisture. Reheat in a covered baking dish at 375 F for 20 to 25 minutes. Thaw frozen ones in the fridge overnight first.
