Air Fryer Shrimp Recipe with Fresh or Frozen Shrimp
Author: Jessica Haggard
Tender, juicy shrimp tossed in garlic, paprika, and avocado oil, cooked in the air fryer, then finished with fresh lemon and parsley for an easy, flavorful meal in minutes. A foolproof way to cook both fresh and frozen shrimp.
In a mixing bowl, mix together the avocado oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Add your peeled and deveined shrimp to the bowl and toss everything around until every piece is well coated in the spices, then let it sit to marinate for about 10 minutes.
Preheat your air fryer up to 400 °F for 3 to 5 minutes.
Arrange the seasoned shrimp in the air fryer basket in a flat, single layer without letting them overlap.
Air fry the shrimp at 400 °F for 5 to 6 minutes, giving the basket a quick shake halfway through so they cook evenly. You'll know they're ready when they turn pink and opaque all the way through.
Transfer the cooked shrimp to a plate, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve right away with some lemon wedges.
Notes
Arrange the shrimp in a single layer so the air circulates and they crisp up instead of steaming.Check them early and pull them as soon as they're pink, opaque, and curled into a "C" shape so they don’t get rubbery.Serve: Serve hot with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce. Pair with rice, pasta, a fresh salad, or warm tortillas for a quick meal. For entertaining, arrange on a platter with toothpicks as an easy appetizer.Store: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350 F for 2 to 3 minutes to keep them crispy, or enjoy them cold straight from the fridge in salads, wraps, and grain bowls.
